About Me
Dr. John Wilker is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed his residency at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. Originally earning a master’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Dr. Wilker soon realized his true calling was working with people, not metal. During this time, his wife was experiencing some health challenges that opened his eyes to the gaps in care and inspired him to pursue medicine. With the support of the U.S. Army, he went on to earn his medical degree. “I thought I could probably do this and give her better care than she was getting,” he said. “And when I found out the Navy would put me through medical school, it was a pretty easy decision.” Upon retiring from the Army, Dr. Wilker went into private practice, where he has remained for over 30 years. As a provider, he strives to make sure his patients feel valued and never like “just a number.” In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.
