About Me
Dr. Bryan Butel is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a passion for helping others. He earned his undergraduate degree from Luther College before completing medical school at Des Moines University Osteopathic College of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency at Northeastern Health System (Oklahoma State University) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Inspired by the principles of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Dr. Butel views the body as a whole and emphasizes a holistic, lifestyle-focused approach to treatment. He prioritizes preventive care and works closely with patients to explore the best options for improving their overall health before turning to medications when appropriate. His goal is always to ensure patients feel confident, informed, and comfortable with their care plan. For Dr. Butel, the patient-provider relationship is at the heart of effective medicine. He values building lasting relationships and finds great fulfillment in watching his patients’ health improve over time. Known for starting appointments with a lighthearted “dad joke” or pun, he believes a little humor helps put patients at ease and strengthens trust from the very beginning. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, Nala. He loves live music — from rock and classical to jazz and opera — and enjoys playing both piano and guitar.
