Thomas Smith, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Smith is a primary care physician specializing in Family Medicine. He attended Birmingham-Southern College and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Ph.D. in cell biology. He earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed his residency at Anderson Family Practice in South Carolina. Dr. Smith has practiced in a variety of medical settings, including private practice, urgent care, and overseas missions. He is the founder of the Tallahassee Haiti Medical Team, an ongoing operation to extend medical help to poor rural areas in Haiti. Dr. Smith has devoted his entire career to the principles of prevention and teaching. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, traveling to Scotland with his wife, Sonya, and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.
